Microsoft Teams - Meeting Permissions & Roles
Instructions on how to modify meeting permissions and roles within a Teams Meeting.
Change Meeting RolesÂ
- You will need to first create and send out the meeting invite before you can assign roles.
- Once that has been sent, go to Calendar and click on the meeting you want to adjust. Â
- Click on Meeting options
- This will bring you to a web page where you will see a few choices under Who can present?
- To prevent students from recording your meetings or presenting, set the permissions to Only me
- A few things to keep in mind:
- You'll need to send your meeting invite directly to anyone you want to present to ensure they are a presenter.
- You won't be able to select someone outside of Lambton College as a presenter.
- The ability to select specific presenter isn't yet available for channel meetings.
But my meeting has already started! Can I still change permissions? Â
Yes! Even if the meeting has already started, you can still change permission or role within the meeting.
- Go to Calendar, click on the meeting, and select Meeting options. Us the dropdown menu for Who can present? to select a new presenter. Â
- Note if the meeting is recurring, any change you make in the Meeting options will apply to all meeting occurrences. Â
OR
- Click Show participants in the meeting controls to see a list of the people in the meeting. Â
- Hover over the name of the person whose role you want to change and click ... for more options. From there you can change them to a Presenter or just an Attendee. Â
