How To - Create a Teams Meeting from Teams

  1. Open Microsoft Teams.
  2. Go to the Calendar option on the left hand side and then click New Meeting on the top right hand side of the screen.
  3. Once you click the New Meeting you will see a familiar screen, its a regular meeting request page.
  4. Fill in any regular information like attendees, summary, subject, occurrence, time and so on.
  5. There is one additional field to make note of, the "Add a Channel" field.
  6. If you click add a channel field you will have the option of creating this meeting in a team and channel you are a member of, this way you can drop the meeting request there and anyone with access will see and be able to join the meeting. You do not have to invite specific people with this option.
  7.  My available teams are listed.
  8. I have now specified a the team "Test" and the channel "General" then click Send.
  9. Now I can see the meeting request in the Team "Test" and the "General" channel.
  10. If I click on it you would see the meeting detail and the Join option.
  11. When you click Join you have the option to enable the camera, and mic if available then join the meeting with the Join Now button.
  12. You could also join the meeting by going to your calendar in teams, finding your event and clicking Join.
