How To - Print from a Personal Device on Campus

To be used when printing from a personal device:

Each term, all full-time students receive a $15 print credit that goes live when classes begin. This will be available when you login to a printer on campus with your student number and password. The amount resets every term and is not available to students on co-op or break.

Step-by-step guide


  1. Visit https://www.mylambton.ca/print or scan the QR code to visit the setup and instruction page for your type of device.
  2. On the bottom of the page you can click the link for the instructions specific to the device you would like to print from.  Windows, Android, and Chrome OS require Papercut to be installed and the below instructions show the flow for installing Papercut on a Windows device.
  3. When installing Papercut on a Windows device, ensure you are on the setup page for windows and click the link below the video that is labelled Click this link.
  4. Run the installation file that is downloaded.
  5. Accept the User Account Control if prompted and Click ok after confirming your preferred language.
  6. Accept the Agreement and click Next.
  7. Select the PrintRelease queue and click Next.
  8. Enter your College ID(ex: c0123456@mylambton.ca) and Password and click Next.
  9. The install shouldn't take more than a few seconds and then you can click Finish
  10. Now when you are connected to the College's wireless network you can select the PrintRelease [Everywhere](Mobility) queue and follow the steps below to release your job at any printer at the College.
  11. Ensure you have the proper settings and click on Printer Properties to select additional options.
    Note - If you submit a colour job, be sure to release it from a colour printer.
  12. Once your job has been sent, you can access the device you wish to release the job at by tapping your student/employee card on the attached reader or use the touchscreen to login with your College credentials.

  13. Once you have logged in, you will automatically be taken to your print queue if you have pending jobs.  Not all screens will be the exact same as they vary by model.
  14. From this screen you can select the job(s) you wish to print or delete or you can select Access Device to see other options such as scan or copy if available.
  15. Once printed or deleted, you queue will be empty and you can press the Home button or Access Device button to perform other actions or logout.
  16. There will be buttons on this screen identifying available options on the device or you can touch the button with your ID to logout.
  17. Touch Log Out to completely log out of the machine.  The device will timeout after 30 seconds if nothing is touched to help ensure your account isn't used by the next person.
  18. Confirm Log Out by touching Log Out one more time.
