How To - Install Office 365 for iOS Devices

Microsoft Office 365 gives you access to Word, Excel and PowerPoint and provides you with 1TB of storage in Microsoft OneDrive.

The following process uses Word as an example, but this process can be done for any of the Microsoft Office apps:

  1. Open the app store on your device and search for Office.
  2. Download the app by tapping the cloud icon.
  3. If this is the first time you are using the app store on your device, you may get some additional prompts asking you to sign in with an existing Apple ID or create a new one.
  4. If prompted, we suggest setting your device to always require a password.
  5. Once the download is complete, you can tap OPEN to start the app - you may wish to download all of the Microsoft Office apps at this point.
  6. Once you get to the sign in screen, tap Sign In and use your college email account to unlock full access to the app - this will allow you to create and edit rather than just view. 
  7. After entering your email address, click NEXT - this will take you to a college portal page where you can enter your students id and password and tap Sign In.
  8. You will have the option to turn on notifications.
  9. Tap Create and Edit Documents and you will be taken to the screen you would see on a computer to create a new document in Office - this is where the apps will open going forward.
