Achieving a Pass Grade

Minimum Passing Grade

When completing the Care Passport modules, you must achieve a grade of 85% or higher in each micro-credential to receive a PASS grade. Learners are allowed five attempts at the final assessment to achieve a PASS grade.

Retakes - If you don’t pass

Learners who are not successful after five attempts at the final assessment for each micro-credential are required to re-register and take that micro-credential again - you will be required to pay for retakes.

If you don’t complete the module within 14 days of the course arriving in your D2L account - you will be required to pay for retakes.

Learners who require a retake will need to pay for the registration fees for each retake. This cost is outlined in Retake Registration .

Attempts

If you’ve attempted the assessment twice and still haven’t passed, we recommend reaching out to your employer or instructor to better understand the module material before attempting the assessments again.

The above PASS guidelines do not apply to LTCMR-0120 or LTCMR-0130. These modules are structured differently. Please visit Completing LTCMR-0120 and LTCMR-0130 (PointClickCare Modules) page for more details.

Tips for Achieving a Pass Grade

The tips below outline what you need to do if you do not achieve 85% or higher on your first attempt at the final assessment for a micro-credential.

Review Your Results

If you have not been successful in your first attempt at a quiz, do not take your second attempt until you have determined which questions you answered incorrectly and reviewed the relevant course content.

  1. Review your quiz results and determine which questions you have answered correctly and incorrectly.

You will see a score of 0/1 for an incorrect answer as highlighted in the red box below.

You will see a score of 1/1 for a correct answer as highlighted in the green box below.

NOTE: The green and red boxes in the image below are added for clarity. Your scores will not be highlighted with these boxes when you are reviewing your results in D2L.

  1. Once you know which questions you have answered incorrectly, go to the Learn the Course Content section of the micro-credential and review the relevant material to determine the correct answer.

NOTE: The content from the elearning module for each micro-credential is also provided as a printable PDF document. You can use this document to quickly find the content you need to review when preparing for your second attempt.

  1. Once you are confident that you now know the correct answers for the questions you answered incorrectly on your first attempt, you can begin your second attempt at the final assessment.

Check Your Final Grade

You can check your final grade for a micro-credential in the Grades tab. Your grade will show NP (No Pass) by default until you have successfully completed the micro-credential. If you do not see a Pass grade in the Grades tab, you have not yet achieved a Pass grade for that micro-credential.

The Grades tab is located in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

If you have achieved a Pass grade, you will see a P highlighted green under Grade. If you see an NP highlighted red as shown below, it means you have not received a Pass grade and you will need to attempt the Final Quiz again.
