Associate a D2L Dropbox to the Gradebook
Associating a D2L Dropbox with the gradebook allows for seamless integration of submitted assignments into the course’s grading system. Once the gradebook is set up, linking the Dropbox ensures that when students submit their work, their grades and feedback are automatically recorded in the gradebook, eliminating the need for manual entry. This not only streamlines the grading process but also provides a clear and centralized location for tracking individual student submissions and performance. Additionally, instructors can set up advanced grading options such as rubrics or grade item weighting, and ensure that assignment deadlines are met without requiring extra administrative effort. This integration enhances efficiency, accuracy, and transparency in both grading and feedback delivery.
Instructions
From within your D2L course:
Click Assessments
Click Dropbox
Click the dropdown arrow beside your assignment and choose Edit Folder
Click "Ungraded"
Click "In Gradebook"
Click "Edit or Link to Existing"
Click "Link to Existing" and choose the corresponding grade item from the dropdown list
Save
Save and Close.
If you don’t see the corresponding grade item that you would like to associate the dropbox with (assuming your gradebook is set up), it likely means that the grade item is already associated with another assessment. In this case, you will need to remove the association.
