Change D2L Gradebook to Adjusted Final Grade
The Adjusted Final Grade setting in D2L is a valuable tool for faculty who want to retain control over final grades, making it easier to accommodate individual circumstances, apply grading policies, and offer fairness beyond automated gradebook calculations. It’s a flexible option that helps faculty make manual adjustments in a way that supports both individual student needs and the integrity of the course’s grading framework. However, faculty should use this feature judiciously to maintain grading consistency and transparency.
Below are the steps to switch from a Final Calculated Grade setting to the Adjusted Final Grade setting.
Instructions
From within your D2L course:
Click on Grades
Click Settings (small gear)
Click Calculation Options tab
Change the Final Grade Released to “Adjusted Final Grade”
Save/Yes
Close
When looking at the Enter Grades screen in your gradebook, you should now see a symbol in the Adjusted Final Grade column.
