Learners taking Care Passport micro-credentials must achieve a grade of 85% or higher to receive a Pass grade. Learners are allowed two (2) attempts at the final assessment to achieve a Pass grade.

Learners who are not successful after two attempts at the final assessment for a micro-credential are required to re-register and take that micro-credential again. Learners who require a retake will need to contact their employer/educational institution to determine who is responsible for payment of the registration fees for a retake.

In order to make sure that you are successful on your second attempt, and to avoid retake fees, be sure to follow the instructions below:

NOTE: The instructions below apply to all online Care Passport micro-credentials except the PointClickCare micro-credentials, which are structured differently.

Please see Completing the PointClickCare Modules if you are experiencing issues completing either of the PointClickCare micro-credentials.

Instructions

The instructions below outline what you need to do if you do not achieve 85% or higher on your first attempt at the final assessment for a micro-credential.

Review Your Results

If you have not been successful in your first attempt at a quiz, do not take your second attempt until you have determined which questions you answered incorrectly and reviewed the relevant course content.

  1. Review your quiz results and determine which questions you have answered correctly and incorrectly.

Click here to see examples of a correct and an incorrect answer

You will see a score of 0/1 for an incorrect answer as highlighted in the red box below.

You will see a score of 1/1 for a correct answer as highlighted in the green box below.

NOTE: The green and red boxes in the image below are added for clarity. Your scores will not be highlighted with these boxes when you are reviewing your results in D2L.

  1. Once you know which questions you have answered incorrectly, go to the Learn the Course Content section of the micro-credential and review the relevant material to determine the correct answer.

NOTE: The content from the elearning module for each micro-credential is also provided as a printable PDF document. You can use this document to quickly find the content you need to review when preparing for your second attempt.

  1. Once you are confident that you now know the correct answers for the questions you answered incorrectly on your first attempt, you can begin your second attempt at the final assessment.

Check Your Final Grade

You can check your final grade for a micro-credential in the Grades tab. Your grade will show NP (No Pass) by default until you have successfully completed the micro-credential. If you do not see a Pass grade in the Grades tab, you have not yet achieved a Pass grade for that micro-credential.

The Grades tab is located in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

If you have achieved a Pass grade, you will see a P highlighted green under Grade. If you see an NP highlighted red as shown below, it means you have not received a Pass grade and you will need to attempt the Final Quiz again.

PLEASE NOTE: Individual modules in D2L will be marked as complete after you have accessed them as shown in the example below. This does not mean that you have received a Pass grade for the micro-credential. It is only there to indicate that you have accessed that particular module.

Retakes

If you do not achieve a Pass grade after the second attempt, you will be required to register to retake that micro-credential. The registration fee for a retake is the same as the fee for the initial registration. If you require a retake, you will need to check with your employer/educational institution regarding payment of registration fees for retakes.
