There are two Care Portal micro-credentials that teach learners how to use the PointClickCare software. You may be required Depending on your staff role, you may have to take one or both of these micro-credentials depending on your staff role. The micro-credentials aremodules:

  • LTCMR-0120 - Navigate the PointClickCare System in The the Care Environment

  • LTCMR-0130 - Use the Point of Care Documentation Module of PointClickCare System in Long-Term Care

Preferred Browser & Device

Google Chrome browser on is the preferred browser and the PointClickCare modules should be accessed from a laptop or desktop computer when doing the PointClickCare modules- not a mobile device. Using a different browser, or attempting to complete the modules on a mobile device, can result in errors that will prevent successful completion of the modules.

titleREAD THIS FIRST - Navigation Buttons

IMPORTANT NOTE: When navigating the PointClickCare modules DO NOT use the navigation arrows highlighted in red below. These navigation arrows move you back to the previous module or forward to the next module, which can result in your progress being lost.

Tip

Be sure to only use the PREV and NEXT navigation buttons highlighted in green below.

If the NEXT button is not displayed, it means there is something you need to complete on the current slide before advancing to the next one.

PLEASE NOTE: the screenshots in this section are taken from Part 1 of LTCMR-0120 Navigate the PointClickCare System in The Care Environment. If you are completing Part 2 or 3, the screens will look slightly different, but the process for completing each module is the same.

After you have completed the last one of the simulations in a module, the Nextbutton will appear in the bottom right-hand corner. Select Nextto move to the Module Completion slide.

As shown in the screenshot below, the button for the last simulation you complete may not turn grey after you complete it. Once the Next button appears, you are ready to move on to the next slide, even if the final button has not turned from blue to grey.

Select Complete Module

Select Continue- the module will now be marked as complete in the Grades tab and you will be able to access the next module.

Select Exit Module to continue to Part 2 of the micro-credential. There are 3 parts to this micro-credential. You must complete all three parts to receive a Pass grade.

titleMAKE SURE YOU'VE PASSED - Check Your Grade in the Grades Tab

You can check your final grade for a micro-credential in the Grades tab. Your grade will show NP (No Pass) by default until you have successfully completed the micro-credential. If you do not see a Pass grade in the Gradestab, you have not yet achieved a Pass grade for that micro-credential.

The Grades tab is located in the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

If you have achieved a Pass grade, you will see a P highlighted green under Grade. If you have not yet achieved a Pass grade you will see an NP highlighted red as shown below.
