Before You Begin!

Many PCs come with Microsoft 365 pre-loaded when purchased new. If you are following these instructions for a new purchase or have never restored or removed software from your computer, check your "Start" menu to see if Office software is pre-loaded already. If so, proceed directly to Step 7 of this guide.

Staff and students at Lambton College receive a free license for Microsoft 365 (M365). This cloud based Office suite can either be accessed and used directly through myLambton, or installed locally to a computer for offline use by following the steps below.

Installation Instructions

  1. Open a browser and navigate to http://www.mylambton.ca

  2. Sign in using your c000000@mylambton.ca for students or c000000@lambtoncollege.ca for employees and your college password

  3. Once logged in, locate and click the M365 link

  4. On the next page, click Apps & devices on the left hand menu

  5. Click the button to "Install Office"

  6. A window will pop up informing you that a file will download and to run it when it finishes. Do so.

  7. Office will download and install in the background. You will need to maintain a strong internet connection while it completes. This process may take 20-30 minutes depending on your connection strength/speed.

  8. After the installation has completed, launch Word, Excel. Access or PowerPoint.

  9. After the software loads, you will be prompted to sign in again, do so using your c0 number@mylambton.ca for students or c0 number@lambtoncollege.ca for employees and your college password. This will apply your license to the newly installed Office programs. It is now ready for use.

Note

The Office 365 version of software may vary from those included with a standard license (available on all college computers). Though functionality is mostly the same, menus, toolbars, and features may be arranged differently, and some features are not yet included. All Office apps include a robust help feature you can utilize to get acquainted and learn the new layouts. Look for the light bulb icon near the top middle of the page, and search in the "Tell me what you want to do..." box to access it.
